About
About BensTrack
A portfolio tracker and valuation workbench for people who want to understand their own returns instead of being told a number by an app that cannot show its working.
Why it exists
Most brokerage apps answer the wrong question. They show you a percentage next to your portfolio and never explain whether it measures your stock picking or merely the fact that you happened to deposit money before a good month. They rarely handle multiple currencies honestly, they lose the cost basis of a position the moment you sell part of it, and they treat a dividend as if it vanished.
BensTrack was built to answer three questions properly:
- What do I actually own? Positions grouped by asset, with every purchase lot preserved, FIFO-matched sales, and cost basis converted at the exchange rate on the day you bought.
- What did I actually earn? Time-weighted returns that strip out the effect of deposits, so the number reflects your decisions rather than your payroll date.
- What is this worth? A transparent valuation model where every assumption is yours and the arithmetic is written out in full.
What it deliberately does not do
It does not connect to your broker, place orders, move money, or hold assets. It has no trading capability whatsoever. It does not sell you products, take commissions from anyone, or push a portfolio at you. See the investment disclaimer.
How it is funded
BensTrack is free to use. It currently carries no advertising and has no paid tier. Market data is licensed from the providers listed in the privacy policy.
